How to become an approved standard business sponsor

To become a standard business sponsor, your business must operate in Australia and meet the eligibility criteria set by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (DHA). The sponsor needs to provide details about the business, its operations, and plans for employing foreign workers. The sponsor also needs to provide evidence of the business's financial stability and its ability to meet its sponsorship obligations. The eligible Sponsor needs to pay the relevant sponsorship and nomination fees. As an approved standard business sponsor, you will have ongoing obligations to the DHA, including reporting the status of sponsored workers, reporting any changes in the sponsored worker's circumstances, and ensuring the sponsored worker is not paid less than the minimum wage. Having Standard Business Sponsor approval enables a business to sponsor foreign workers for certain types of visa, including the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa and the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa. The approval is valid for five years and can be renewed if the business continues to meet the eligibility criteria and obligations set by the DHA.
